To
all purchasers and readers of ‘Lincoln Ditties’. You
will appreciate that entering the world of having
one’s writings published, would not
have materialized in my case if my dear wife
Nancy
had not died. We enjoyed a good life to the
full, for
more than 50 years and when you become the
remaining partner you find yourself in a
very different
world.
I mentioned in Book 1 that writing ditties was
a pastime. To help filling in the void after losing
Nancy, it was suggested I should keep up the interest
and have the ditties published. From the beginning
I have never looked upon this as being a business
adventure. My serious work is verse about the County
and City of Lincoln. All Lincolnshire folk, residing
and away, should find that side of my work interesting
and may find it reminding themselves of their own
past times. On the other side it is verse with
only one object in mind, that is simply and bring
forth a laugh. Oddly there are times when both
sides meet.
I have informed TUCANNbooks, publishers of ‘Lincoln
Ditties’ that the book is solely a
charity fund raising enterprise. Any interested
Lincolnshire
registered charity are invited to obtain
and sell at what price they can get, with
all monies
going
