His arrival at RAF Waddington
in 2003 meant that for the first time in 23 years
he was less than five hours away from his beloved
Goodison Park. Eager to make up for the lost
years, he became a season ticket holder and has
been travelling to the games ever since.
In 2004 he joined a local pool team and this
book chronicles the fortunes, good and bad, of
both Everton Football Club and the Royal Joiners
pool team.
Along the way you will be introduced to the colourful
and sometimes crazy characters he meets, both
at Goodison and in the local Lincolnshire pubs.
Fast flowing, witty and laced with humour throughout,
this book proves the adage that, ‘the truth
is often stranger than fiction.’
The author was born in Liverpool
in 1961 and moved to Wigan at the age of five.
After becoming the U-16 town champion at 800
metres, 1500 metres and chess, he took up smoking
and left school with one ‘O’ level.
He managed to finally gain some qualifications
from 6th form college before joining the RAF
in 1980. He has served all across the UK and
completed tours in the Falkland Islands and Germany.
Currently serving at RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire,
he is married to Debs (pictured) and they have
two grown up daughters, Gemma and Vicky.
£1 will be donated to
the Everton Former-Players Foundation for every
book
sold through the Everton family.
