Frogs do a good job in an organic garden as
they love to eat little slugs, which can do a
lot of damage to all plants.
Follow the amazing life history of Ferdinand as he goes from spawn to tadpole
to frog.
Find out what happens when he leaves the safety of ‘his’ pond to
explore the garden. See how he settles on a compost heap where most of his food
comes as meals on wheels caught by his long tongue.
Next March he is hoping to go to the big party in ‘his’ pond.
Why not put a pond (or two) in your garden and see for yourself.
Graham Gooderham has been an organic gardener in his walled garden in Pershore
and a member of the Henry Doubleday Research Association at Ryton for over 30
years. He has carried out many experiments for them in his garden.
He retired early from being an architect in local government where he specialised
in the conservation of buildings and trees.
He is the ‘Green Apostle’ at Evesham Methodist Church which was the
first church in the Country to receive an ECO award in 2001 for caring for the
environment.
