I was born in West Sussex in
1924. Educated at Cheltenham College and served
in RAF aircrew during the latter half of the
War as an air-gunner. Demobilized in the summer
of 1946 I have farmed in Lincolnshire ever since.
My wife Norah came from Waltham and has so far
put up with me for 54 years. We have two Children
and six Grandchildren and writing various forms
of verse has been a lifetime’s hobby.
I was Chairman of the Oxford Farming Conference
and The London Farmers Club and a Liveryman of
the Worshipful Company of Farmers. I served for
a number of years on the Agricultural Science
Committee of Bristol University and the Master’s
degree Panel.
